Picture yourself at the Carrier Dome on Feb. 22 when the University men's basketball team takes on Duke. Imagine you're not sitting where you usually sit, but down there, a whole lot closer to the action.

To make that happen, you could of course pay handsomely for a single seat in a prime spot, provided you can find one. But if want to be close for every home game, there's the option of premium seating.

The Orange Club Premium Seating Plan was started when the Dome opened in 1980. Here is a quick guide to how the plan works, according to Jeremiah Maher, the associate athletics director for tickets.

The Fans That Get To See The Orange This Year

The seats that ring the court and the first few levels above it requires a season ticket, plus an annual donation to SU's Orange Club. For basketball, the donation starts at $250 per seat in Zone D to $800 per seat in Zone A. New ticket holders for the A and B zones also make an additional Orange Club pledge of $2, 500 (Zone B) to $5, 000 (Zone A) that is payable over two years.

If you want to sit closer and your pockets are deeper, consider courtside seating, which has three levels. The first row requires an annual per seat donation of $10, 250. The second row is $6, 750 per seat, while the remaining seats are $6, 200 each. Add to that the season ticket price of $460, which, by the way, has been stable for three seasons.

The Dome also offers 41 suites and 19 are considered in view for basketball. Each suite includes up to 18 seats, with the opportunity to purchase six additional season tickets. There are four price points for suites, which are currently sold on a one-year lease, ranging from $52, 530 to $88, 150. For the 2017-18 basketball season, there are four suites available.

Club 44, located in the west end of the Carrier Dome, is a hospitality area open to any ticket holder who purchases a single game ($25 as available) or annual membership ($380). Members enjoy pre-and post-game access to the lounge, a high-end menu and the opportunity to mingle with SU head coaches.

Executive Club is a 62-person party suite in the 200 level in the southwest corner of the Dome. Each ticket includes food and beverages for every game and a season ticket for football, men's basketball and men's lacrosse. The 2016-17 season price per person was $7, 370. Single game tickets are available for select games, including women's basketball.

There have been some recent changes to the premium ticket policy. In previous years, one Orange Club donation allowed fans to buy premium season tickets to football and basketball. Now, separate donations will be required. To build attendance for football, the donation levels for premium areas are being reduced about 60 percent.

Another change is the addition of variable or "dynamic" pricing, " which will be used to determine ticket prices to the most popular games. So far SU has used it for two basketball games (Georgetown in December and the upcoming Duke game), but it could apply to football games as well.

Maher says dynamic pricing for both football and basketball is based on many factors, including the opponent and the day of the week. Premium ticket holders, however, are not subject to dynamic pricing. Maher also notes that premium seat holders have other perks, including pre-sale opportunities to purchase additional single game tickets at prices discounted off the general public prices.
